Fire & Ice Icelandic Horses LLC, located in Limington, Maine is owned and operated by Nikkisue & Alicia Flanigan. Situated privately off the beaten path between the mountains and the sea of Southern Maine’s beautiful landscape, sets our quiet and peaceful piece of heaven on earth.
Our farm was established in 2014, with special meaning to its name. Alicia wanted to include her first Icelandic horse “Funi” in the farm's name as he is the heart and soul of our farm. Funi, meaning “fire” in Iceland (the land known as fire & ice) only seemed fitting. Fire & Ice Icelandic Horses, Creating Relationships One Horse At A Time!

Nikkisue has spent her entire life involved with animals. Growing up she participated in the 4-H program and volunteered at a local stable. By the age of 12, she had horses of her own and started showing them in hand and under saddle in both English and Western disciplines. She continued to care for horses at the local stable taking out trail rides, and helping harness up the team for sleigh and hay rides throughout the years. Nikkisue worked to rehab horses that had been mistreated and found pure joy watching the light come back in their eyes along with their trust.
Alicia, following in her Mother’s footsteps with her love of horses, is a professional trainer and a strong competitor showing and training the Icelandic breed. She loves competing and has competed in Icelandic horse shows all over the U.S. as well as Holland, Sweden and Iceland. When it comes to training, Alicia strives to make a connection with both the horse and rider as she understands they are all unique and learn in different ways.

"I have had the pleasure of working with Alicia on several occasions and trusted her to assist with tölt training my young mare. She provided excellent instruction and care to my horse and training to me. Very talented and professional."
"I took a clinic with Alicia at Pepper Hill Farm and was so impressed with her passion for and extraordinary knowledge of Icelandic horses! She has a gentle, patient, and calm approach to training and a great ability to read the horse and rider and tailor her teaching accordingly, bringing out the best in both. I hope to take another clinic with her again!"
"It was an absolute pleasure riding under your instruction and capturing some highlights of your clinic. Alicia is an excellent instructor, with so much knowledge and skill...it is evident she truly loves what she does. Excited for what's to come next!"
